How to Use Color Palettes
The 60-30-10 Rule: Use your dominant color for 60% of the design (backgrounds), a secondary color for 30% (cards, sections), and an accent color for 10% (buttons, links, highlights).
Start with neutrals: Pick 1-2 colors from a palette as your brand colors, then pair them with neutral greys and whites. Not every color in a palette needs to be used equally.
Testing palettes: Always test your chosen palette with real UI elements — buttons, cards, text, and backgrounds. A palette that looks great as swatches may not work well in practice without proper contrast ratios.
Accessibility first:Make sure your color combinations meet WCAG contrast requirements. Use the Color Theory page's contrast checker to verify text readability.
